Maria Ramirez-Perez

Maria brings both strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail to the work we do at Linguistica, supporting clients, project coordination, and the overall delivery of language services. She earned a Certificate in Health Care Interpreting, a Certificate of Achievement in Business Foundations, and an Associate of Science in Small Business Management from Reedley College and continues to grow her expertise in language access and interpretation services. With a background in community work, Maria discovered a passion for creating access through clear and meaningful communication.

Her connection to Linguistica is rooted in a deep commitment to language accessibility and serving diverse communities. Through her work, Maria has witnessed how language access directly impacts individuals and families, especially in spaces that have traditionally centered English speakers. Being part of an organization that creates access and builds bridges between communities is both meaningful and inspiring to her.

One of the most impactful lessons Maria has learned is that language access goes far beyond direct translation. It requires cultural understanding, adaptability, and care. She has seen firsthand how direct translations can sometimes miss the intended meaning, making it essential to consider context and cultural nuance to ensure the message is truly understood. This perspective highlights the importance of true connection, not just communication.

Outside of work, Maria enjoys spending time with her family, her two ShihTzu troublemakers, Manchas and Brody, and crocheting. She finds comfort in creative and repetitive activities, which reflect her detail-oriented and thoughtful nature.

A fun fact about Maria: she enjoys repetitive, detail-oriented tasks and finds them surprisingly relaxing. It’s a small glimpse into the personality and focus she brings to her work every day.
